Jaipur was day 4 of our 'Intrepid' India Tour of the Golden Triangle, with our tour guide Bhawani.

In the morning we visited the Amber Fort, and in the afternoon we visited the Pink City. We also made a quick stop at the Jantar Manter observatory, which was very impressive, and drive-by photo shoots of the 'Floating Palace' the 'Palace of the Winds'.

- Amber Fort
- Surrounded by a wall on the hilltops very similar to Great Wall of China
- Rajput architecture
- Sheesh Mahal (Hall of mirrors)
- Visited 2 x textiles shops offering made to order clothes (business/tourism agreement - tourists shipped in...very annoying)
- Pink City
- City Palace (from a distance - only allowed in the courtyard area)
- Saw flag flying - king was at home (with no political, constitutional or legal powers)
- Museum of the maharajas
- Museum of textiles
Jantar Manter
18th Century Space/Time Observatory

Getting there and away
- Day 3 of tour: Drove to Jaipur after visiting Fatehpur Sikri
- Day 5 of tour: Drove back to Delhi

Where we stayed
- 'Park Prime' Hotel for 2 nights (recommended)
- Checked in at the Sunstar Grand again for an additional night (NOT recommended!)
