My 2nd tournament - on my own this time. Reflecting on the day, it's better to have a partner that you can warm up with prior to a fight.

I went in cold against a heavyweight black-belt for my semi contact fight. I didn't find any rhythm or use my speed, and was rattled a bit by his heavy hitting. Still, as I'd volunteered to move up a category to give him a fight I had earned the 2nd place medal.

Semi-Contact KickBoxing

1st place?! Yes, after many hours of killing time (we arrived just before 10am) there was a couple of quick bursts of energy around 2.30pm to beat a guy that had travelled down from Edinburgh, and then another local lad in the final. The first match was closest - a backfist won it in the last few seconds to make the score 6-5. The final was a more convincing victory at 10-0. I fought as a 'green belt', which is classed as a junior category vs. the black belts. Check out the videos below for each fight...

This was our main holiday for 2015 - a 7-berth motorhome, and a week to tour scotland. We didn’t have time to explore every corner, but made the best of it with the following itinerary:

1. Loch Lomond (quick overnighter)
2. Isle of Mull & Tobermory
3. Oban
4. Loch Ness
5. Cairngorms
6. Trossachs National Park (quick overnighter)

We also stayed a night in Kendal on the way home so we were able to return the motorhome before 11am the following Saturday.

It has been announced that from 1st July 2015 the on-premise per-User CAL pricing will increase by 15%.

Microsoft have stated that they have continued investments to support multi-device, cross-platform productivity scenarios which has increased the number of ways in which users access on-premises servers that are licensed with CAL Suites currently.

Customers continue to have the option to license CAL Suites with a choice of per-user or per-device, and per-device CALs will see no change in pricing.

In the Microsoft Enrolment for Education Solutions (EES) Program Guide, the Microsoft formula for calculating the FTE count in the United States is is stated as follows: Full-time Faculty + (Part-time Faculty / 3) + Full-time Staff + (Part-time Staff /2) = FTE Count. It is noted that "Employees such as maintenance, grounds keeping, and cafeteria staff may be excluded from the faculty/staff FTE employee count if they do not use institutional devices." In the UK, the FTE count is made up of Faculty and Staff members where:

Licensing for Remote Desktop Services (RDS) can be challenging enough, but under EES there are the added complexities of different price-points for the enterprise-wide FTE count, ‘additional products’ i.e. per-department licensing, and the Student Option - the option to subscribe to software under EES at a lower price point for student-owned or student-exclusive devices.
